Students Sign Up Once

Log in to the following apps to sign up for accounts. The app will then track progress or save information PER student account, and will "travel" with the student to new classrooms & grade levels.

Typing Club  Sign up using ONLY students' first name, their user name is also their first name, their password is whatever your classroom google user sign in password is.

For example Robin    username: Robin    password: drakes2026

Lucid Press & Lucid Chart  Signing up for one, gets you into both with the same username & password.  Sign up using students' emails & their password is whatever your classroom google user sign in password is. Ludic Press is a great resource for making pamphlets, signs, invitations; Lucid Chart is great for students mapping thoughts for research papers, or ideas for writing.

Blogger  From their user account, click on the Blogger app. Sign each student up for a numbered blog for example blackduck99.blogspot.com  All you need to do is put in their UA password to access it.  As of Aug 1, 2015, I have made blogs for the 2015-16 school year for students with the numbers blackduck 01 - blackduck101, and think this would be a good way to keep them consistently organized. I numbered them so that they are NOT easily searchable on the internet, but did put students' first names on their blog. I used the default blog that appears when you click on create a new bog and think that it's sufficient for students use. I then linked all my students' blogs to my classroom blog for parents to access from home (or from cell phones).

Older grade levels may want to have students set up their own blogs, depending on how much classroom time you want to spend on teaching that skill. You or the students can personalize their blogs if you like, changing the background & colors and adding clip art or photos.

*Also be sure either you or the student goes into settings, and to the section titled "edit comments & posts". Under comment moderation, select "Always" and enter the student's email address where prompted. This ensures that no comments will post until the student (and you) are able to view it. It will send a message to the student on their blog home page & teachers will need to instruct students to show the comments to them before posting it.
